Motorsports are highly popular in the Southern Downs region, with the industry having a wide choice of locations to choose from and hosting events that attract both locals and visitors. There are currently a number of business opportunities available for motor racing in the region, including supply chain opportunities. The region also has a number of sports and recreation facilities that can cater for major sporting events or training camps. These facilities coupled with the natural landscape provide a real alternative to congested urban centres.
Nature-based tourism in the region continues to grow due to a combination of unique attractions like Girraween National Park and the region’s proximity to large population centres on the coast.
