Pipeline workers treated to local memento

Newlands crew showing off their new belts

2 July 2019

After working hard for months on the new Storm King Dam pipeline project, Toowoomba construction company, Newlands, rewarded their workers with a classic Granite Belt keepsake.

Staff from Newlands, who’ve been calling Stanthorpe home for the past few months while they worked on the $6.5million project, were each gifted a Kent Saddlery leather belt and pouch.

“The managers wanted to reward their staff with something local,” Josh Furness from Kent Saddlery said.

“Each ground worker got a belt and a pouch and once the office workers got wind of it, the whole company ended up with a belt,” he said.

“Our products are the perfect memento, as our laser printing and corporate branding works perfectly on our quality leather products. And they’re all created here in the Granite Belt.”

Newlands Civil Construction were awarded the tender for the installation of a new Storm King Dam raw water pipeline between the dam and Mount Marlay Water Treatment Plant.
